Frequently asked questions
What we do and what we deliberately do not, what the plans cost and why the price is per entity, how switching works, and where your data lives. If your question is not here, ask it in the intro call.
What we do
We run your administration continuously instead of quarterly. Bank transactions and invoices are processed within 24 hours, we file your VAT return, your corporate income tax return and the full year-end close, and your payroll tax return if you have people on the payroll. Your figures sit in an app you can open yourself at any moment, and the reports your bank or investor asks for come straight out of it.
No, and we are deliberate about the word. Accountant is a protected title in the Netherlands: art. 41 lid 2 of the Wet op het accountantsberoep reserves it for people entered in the NBA register, and that applies to a trade name or a tagline too. We are not on the register, so we do not call ourselves one. What we do is the recurring work: the administration, the VAT, payroll and corporate income tax returns, the year-end close and the reporting. For most startups that is the work that actually comes back every month. The one thing that belongs to a registered firm is a formal set of annual accounts carrying an accountant's report, and the obligation to have one follows company size: a startup in its first years is micro or small on every criterion.
No, and that is a choice. We make sure your administration is correct and that your returns go out on time and accurate. Strategic and financial advice, tax planning, valuations and the statutory audit of financial statements are a different profession with a different responsibility. Run into a question like that and we will say so and point you to a specialised party.
The full year-end close is: your books are closed, your corporate income tax return is filed and your figures reconcile. Formal financial statements that have to be filed with the Chamber of Commerce are additional work, and we quote those separately up front, so you never find a surprise on your invoice.
Yes. A holding is its own administration with its own bank account, its own VAT number and its own return, so it runs as a separate entity. In practice a holding usually falls in the Starter plan, because few invoices pass through it.
Then you need a payroll administration, even as the only person on the payroll. As a managing director and shareholder you fall under the same rate as an employee: 20 euros per person per month, payslip and payroll tax return included.
What it costs
In your intro call we look at your invoice volume over three recent months, your team size and your funding phase, and we decide together which plan is the right starting point. You can move up or down at any time afterwards, so you do not have to guess right the first time.
Starter is 250 euros per month for 0 to 75 invoices, Growth 325 euros for 76 to 125 invoices and Scale 475 euros for 126 to 200 invoices. All three include continuous processing within 24 hours, your VAT and corporate income tax returns, the full year-end close and the real-time app. Growth adds a fixed point of contact and Scale adds a quarterly report on top. All amounts are per entity and exclude VAT.
Because every BV is its own administration: its own bank account, its own VAT number, its own return and its own year-end close. Two entities is twice the work and that is how we bill it. A holding with an operating company pays for both, with the holding usually in the lowest plan.
Add up the purchase and sales invoices of an average month. Bank transactions, VAT splits, depreciation entries and payment provider payouts do not count: a payout containing twenty sales is one bank line, while the invoices underneath it do count. If it fluctuates, take the average over three months, because that is what we base your plan on too.
Always 20 euros per employee per month, payslips and the payroll tax return included, with no setup fee. That amount does not change with your plan and it is not hidden inside the monthly fee, so your invoice shows exactly what you pay for.
At three moments, and none of them arrives as a surprise. You grow structurally past a tier boundary, and then we move you to the next plan pro rata. You hire someone, and 20 euros per employee per month is added. Or an entity joins. One busy month changes nothing, because we look at your average.
Yes, up and down at any time. If your invoice volume grows you move up; if it falls back you move down. You are not locked into the plan you start with.
Our prices exclude VAT. If you are registered for VAT that VAT is deductible for you, which makes the price excluding VAT your actual monthly cost. Comparing us against another firm's hourly rate, compare the same quantity.
Switching and onboarding
We complete a full onboarding within 5 working days: software setup, bank feeds, the import of your historical data and a check that the open items reconcile. After that processing runs continuously and you see your figures in the app.
Absolutely. We run the migration in parallel, so your old administration keeps going until your books are fully with us. Only once the balances match on both sides do we switch over, and then you cancel yourself.
Yes. We take over the financial year from the last closed period and check the opening balance against your most recent returns, so your year-end close does not end up resting on two half administrations. A switch shortly before a filing deadline we deliberately schedule just after it.
Access to your bank and your invoicing, your last year-end close or trial balance, this year's returns, and your payroll data if you have staff. Whatever is still missing after that we request in one go, not in ten separate emails.
Software, data and security
We set your administration up in software that connects to your bank and your invoicing, so transactions arrive automatically and nobody has to type them over by hand. Which packages those are we go through in the intro call, because it depends on your invoicing flow and your payment providers.
We set up your bookkeeping software, bank feeds and key tools in the kick-off. From there processing is automatic and continuous, which is what makes a 24 hour turnaround possible in the first place.
On secure servers inside the EU, with bank-grade encryption and strict access controls. It is also why we work with connected systems rather than documents going back and forth over email.
You do, always. Your software account and your books stay in your name. We are the operator, never the owner. If you ever move to another party you take your administration with you as it is, and you do not have to ask for anything back.
Not for your monthly figures. You get live dashboards and reports straight from the source systems, so there is no manual step between your bank account and your numbers. If you want to model yourself, you export the figures and continue in your own model.
Practical
Startups with a BV, with or without a holding above it. The tiers run up to 200 invoices per month per entity; above that we quote the work separately up front.
Both. Your administration, your returns and your reports come in the language your team and your investors read, and this website is fully available in English.
Our office is in Utrecht and we work with startups across the Netherlands. Most of it runs digitally, and you are welcome to drop by on weekdays between 09:00 and 17:30 if we arrange it in advance.
